SPEAR Physical Therapy President Earns Top Honors in Private Practice Management
Performance Runners Program wins award
SPEAR Physical Therapy, a leading Manhattan provider, has won the top honors in a business competition given through The Evidence In Motion (EIM) Institute of Health Professions. The aim of the Doctorate program is to elevates the P.T. profession through more efficient, evidence based management of its services, ultimately leading to a more cost effective delivery of health care.
“What we accomplish with this program is to stay on top of the field, so that what we put into practice makes the P.T. experience a more efficient and result-driven one for our patients,” said co-founder and President Dan Rootenberg, PT, DPT, CSCS who represented SPEAR in the 12-month educational program, and earned his Clinical Doctorate over that period.
“If there is one thing that makes our town unique, it is that New Yorkers expect the latest innovations to be available to them, and they require that the P.T. sessions work with great efficiency,” he said. “Our success with this program enables us to continue to see our patients through the process and get them back to their lives with the knowledge that we have managed their time better than ever.”
SPEAR, which maintains four New York City locations, takes special care to work with runner related injuries. The award winning project was a program designed for the runners of NYC. It utilizes multi-angle video analysis of the runner with a functional movement screen and corrective exercises to enhance running mechanics. The runner can take home a DVD that contains a video of themselves running at ,multiple angles and the voice of their P.T. is pointing out inefficiencies and potential enhancements. The centers retain close relations with area hospitals and orthopedists and its Biomechanical Evaluation Running Analysis is widely considered the state of the art approach to efficient mechanics, reduced injuries, and decreased pain.
